Am I able to cancel my investment changes because I’ve changed my mind?
Investment Allocation Changes
Changes to your investment allocations can be changed at any time. If you change your investment option allocations and wish to undo the change you can simply change the allocations back to what they previously were. Assuming you have not received a rollover or contribution before reversing the changes, your funds will be allocated as they were prior to the change.
If you wish to change your allocations back to a previous allocation after receiving another rollover or contribution, you can change your allocations for future contributions and then use the rebalance or switch function to change your existing holdings to match your new allocations or another holding allocation.
Investment Switches
Investment switches can be ‘cancelled’ provided the switch has not already completed. To cancel a pending switch:
- Select the Dashboard section under the ‘Pending’ Tab.
- Click on ‘Review’.
- Select cancel transfer.
Direct Investments

How often can I switch my Managed Investment Options?
There are no limits to the number of times you can switch your investment options.
Note: You will not be able to switch managed investment options if there is an outstanding transfer in the ‘Pending’ Tab.
What is the default investment option when rolling over into Superhero Super?
If you choose to sign up to Superhero Super, you will be required to select at least one of our Diversified or Single Sector investment options when setting up your account. These investment options can be found here.
If your employer sets up an account for you via Superhero Super’s employer default option, 100% of your balance will be invested into the MySuper Growth Option. You can change your investments by logging into your Superhero Super account. Please note that different investment and transaction fees may apply.
Can my funds be allocated across multiple investment options?
You are able to select as many investment options as you wish, with a minimum of 25% of your balance being allocated to a Diversified or Single Sector investment option.
What fees and costs are associated with each investment option?
The applicable fees and costs for each investment option can be found in the Superhero Super Additional Information Guide.
Do I have to choose multiple investment options?
No, you can select just one investment option if you like! However, this will need to be one of either our Diversified or Single Sector investment options**
You can also select multiple investment options, as long as you have a minimum of 25% of your balance allocated across the Diversified or Single Sector investment option/s. If you choose the Direct Investments option, your balance will first be allocated to your Superhero Cash Account as cash, which you can then invest in Direct Investments.
Why can’t I invest more in each investment?
The Trustee is required to act in members’ best interests and has therefore set limits on the amount you can invest in individual investments.
Superhero Super has a range of investment limits which can be found in the Additional Information Guide. To summarise these limits:
- All members must allocate a minimum of 25% of their balance to an investment from the Diversified or Single Sector investment options.
- Members can allocate a maximum of 50% of their balance across Thematic investment options, with a maximum of 20% in one Thematic investment option.
Members can allocate a maximum of 75% of their balance to Direct Investments, with the maximum limit for each individual investment ranging from 10% – 30% as listed in the Direct Investment Menu.
What order types are available with Direct Investments?
Superhero Super offers members a range of different order types for buying and selling Direct Investments.
Market Order
A Market Order is an order to buy or sell at the market price.
For a buy order, the order will be placed at the price set by the lowest seller in the market at the time the order is placed.
If for any reason your order does not trade immediately, the price of your order will be continually updated (increased) in increments until the order trades, in full.
If the market order is a sell order, the order will be placed at the price set by the highest buyer in the market at the time the order is placed. If for any reason your order does not trade immediately, the price of your order will be continually updated (decreased) in increments until the order trades, in full.
Limit Order
A Limit Order is an order to buy or sell a certain number of shares for a specified price (or better).
Limit Orders expire 30 days after you place the order.
Stop Loss Order
A stop loss order is an order to commence selling a stock once the share price reaches a specified price, known as the ‘stop’ or ‘trigger’ price.Â
When the ‘stop’ or ‘trigger’ price is reached, a stop loss order becomes a market to limit sell order. For market to limit sell orders, an order will be placed at the price set by the highest buyer in the market at the time the order is placed and remains at that price until the order trades, or expires.
Stop loss orders are most commonly used by investors to assist in limiting downside risk.
Recurring Order
Recurring orders allow you to schedule automatic buy order(s) on a regular schedule. When you set up a recurring order, you can select the start date of the order as well as the frequency (every market day, weekly, fortnightly or monthly).
Once you have selected the order schedule, select the amount you wish to invest each time and confirm. If you do not have enough funds available to invest we will try to place the order again the next day.
Recurring Orders are placed as a Market Order based on the frequency you choose.
Will I receive dividends for my Direct Investments?
If you invest in Direct Investments that pay a dividend, you will receive these dividends as cash in your Superhero Cash Account . You will then be able to use these funds to invest.
