What types of beneficiaries are available with Superhero Super?

There are two types of beneficiary nominations members of Superhero Super can make while in the accumulation phase:

  • Binding nomination: You provide formal written direction to Superhero Super to tell us who you want your account balance paid to. If valid, your nomination is legally binding.
  • Non-binding nomination: You nominate who you’d prefer your account to be paid to. This nomination is not legally binding.

Once you open a Retirement or Transition to Retirement account with Superhero, you will have the ability to nominate a Reversionary beneficiary.

If you nominate a reversionary beneficiary, this person will receive regular pension payments from your account until the balance reaches $0.
